Alone Series is an exploration of oil pastel pencils and aquarel technique.
I’ve always been interested in capturing different characters, styles, and atmospheres. While studying Interior architecture, the focus in drawing has shifted to more technical drawings.
In the beginning of the year 2021, while in lockdown, I bought myself some oil pastel pencils and returned to draw different characters just by imagining them. While trying to learn a new technique I found it very useful to create a certain kind of image and repeat the main features as a practice. By doing so it is easier for me to see the improvement and where to focus on next in the craft.
When the drawings with the same theme started to pile up, I named the series by the layout of the person in the picture - Alone. While being alone is one of the most common collective experiences we humans share, it is interesting to explore how different postures, colors, and characters reflect the feelings around the theme.
